I love Mother's day. Not only because my incredible husband likes to make breakfast in bed and take care of other "motherly" responsibilities for me, but because my two normally wild and crazy little boys like to be extra sweet on Mother's day. Seth made me an incredibly cute thumbprint coaster at school. Josh drew me a picture of the two of us together. When I asked why my hair was standing straight-up he said "We are swimming and your hair is all wiggly in the water," as he waves his arms in the air, imitating my "hair." So cute!
After church, my boys presented me with two worksheets of "All About Mom," which they apparently did during Primary. Whoever had this idea, I thank you. It was hilarious reading these. So funny that I want to share their responses with you. Before I told the boys what my real favorites were, Aaron also took the "test."
All About Mom
1. How do I show Mom I love her?
Josh: Play games with her
Seth: By kissing her
Aaron: Tell her how pretty she is, that I love her, and kiss her
2. My favorite thing to do with my mom is:
J: play games
S: play games
A: date night, going to the temple, and sharing books
3. Her favorite color is:
J: Green and black
S: Purple
A: Purple
*Everyone's right--purple, green, and hot pink/fuschia
4. Her favorite food is:
J: waffles
S: pizza
A: baked potato, and Chick-fi-la
*Aaron's right on this one. I love potatoes in any form and Chick-fi-la nuggets and sandwiches.
5. If she had extra time, she likes to:
J: play games
S: sleep
A: sleep, scrapbook, craft, read
*All of the above
6. When Mom grows up she wants to be a:
J: Doctor
S: Supermodel
A: Teacher
*When my kids are older, I'd love to go back to teaching again.
7. Mom's favorite book is:
J: Superhero
S: Cooking
A: Harry Potter
*I have lots of favorites including the Harry Potter series, but Seth hit it on the nose. 90% of the books I check out from the library are cookbooks and I usually read them cover to cover!
8. Mom laughs when:
J. I tickle her on the leg
S: I'm silly
A: Our kids say funny things
*All of the above
9. Mom is ____ years old.
J: 18
S: 28 (He wrote the 2 backwards and the teacher thought he wrote 58!)
A: 27*
10. What Mom loves the most is:
J: video games
S: me
A: fun time with family & girls' night out
*What I love the most is my family!
I love it! These were so much fun to read. Apparently, I love to play games and sleep! Also, I am so flattered that Josh thinks I'm only 18 and that Seth thinks I could be a supermodel. It's great to have your kids tell you that you're young and beautiful. It probably won't last forever, but I can bask in the glow for now. :)
To all you mothers, including my own, Happy Mother's Day! Thank you for all you do. Your quiet daily acts of service and love for your family make the world a better place now and in the future. No one can take your place. Thank you!

New Family Pictures
So, we were in desperate need of some new family pictures. By having a baby in the family, any family picture you take is out of date within a couple of months. So we decided to go take some pictures at a nearby (really nice) subdivision that had some beautiful photo settings. We were running out of daylight that evening, which you can kind of see in some of the pictures. Since we are still unemployed, we couldn't afford to pay anyone. Luckily, my camera has a self-timer and I'm somewhat capable of taking pics. Some of the pics aren't quite so flattering of me, because I would set the timer and run to get in the picture within 10 seconds, but the rest of the family looks great! So, here is the first batch of family pics. I'll add more as I finish editing them.
