I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day weekend. Ours was great! It started with our ward church activity, which we were in charge of. We set-up decorations Thursday night.
(Our “church-approved” firecrackers, LOL!)
The party was Friday night. We grilled hot dogs and everyone brought their favorite side-dishes. There were a few games and popsicles at the end. It was a lot of fun, but I was crazy busy the entire time. I hate that I’m so busy at all of the activities that I can’t really enjoy them, let alone invited friends to join us. Someday…
Then, Saturday, Aaron had to work at Pasadena’s 4th fest. He originally thought it was like a health fair, but that was just his clinic’s both. It was a fun (and totally FREE) festival put on by the city of Pasadena. Here are a few pics of the fun things we enjoyed (and Aaron in a bear suit).
(I’ll post the video of this later, HILARIOUS!)
Aubrey loved watching them and luckily could see over the edge.
And yes, this was the car they gave Joshua to race, HA!

Aubrey trying to grab a baby kangaroo. She would squeal every time one of the animals came to the fence. It was so cute!

We got to ride a camel!

Enjoying the fireworks
It was so much fun and we came home with a fun bag of goodies full of beach balls, plastic bead necklaces, paper fans, and funky sunglasses. We will definitely do it again next year (of course Aaron will probably have to be there anyway…).
Sunday, we enjoyed our freedom to worship freely and went to church. Sacrament meeting was a testimony meeting and many of our friends who are originally from other countries shared how they are thankful to now be Americans. It really made me appreciate the safety and freedoms we have in this country. We are all truly blessed to live in America.
We finished out our day by enjoying our neighbors’ fireworks. :) In all the hub-bub of the week we forgot to buy any fireworks to do. However, the people in our neighborhood LOVE doing fireworks and you can just sit outside and see fireworks everywhere. We joined our next door neighbors as they shared theirs, but we all quickly realized that the neighbors across the street knew how to celebrate. They had an amazing supply and must of spent literally thousands of dollars on their fireworks. I can't even begin to describe some of the ones we saw, other than it was top-notch stuff. We decided we’ll just sit out in our front yard next year as we watch the neighbors duel it out! :) It was so much fun and we really enjoyed all of our weekend. I hope you had a great holiday weekend as well!
